Luke 11: The Light of The Body Is The Eye, Keep Not Only The Outward Clean, but The Inside Also.

The light of the body is the eye, in Luke chapter 11 YAHUSHUA explains that if our eyes are single (good) then our body is full of light.

Now, Jesus says that our eyes is the light of the body, because our eyes are what allows us to see. Just as Jesus came to Earth, and He is the Light of the World because He is the one that came and showed us right from wrong. YAHUSHUA set us free from the bondage of sin, through Him we have drawn close YAHUVEH God.

YAHUSHUA teaches us that our bodies can be full of darkness, and this comes through evil eyes. Evil eyes, eyes full of lust, adultery, envy/jealousy, or murder. Such sins are a few which are committed through the eyes. This leads to darkness/sin in the entire body. YAHUSHUA spoke in Matthew 18:9.

And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire. Sin of the eyes causes the entire body to be full of darkness.

Keep Not Only The Outward Clean, but The Inside Also.

We also read in Luke 11 from verse 37 going of a Pharisee who invited YAHUSHUA into his house to dine. It was a custom of the Pharisees to wash before eating, a manmade practice which YAHUSHUA did not follow. WHen the Pharisee saw it: “he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner.” vs 38.

And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.

Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also?
But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.

But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Luke 11:39-42.

The Pharisee focused on making the flesh clean, which is not what YAHUVEH God looks at. They took time to wash the outward, but their inward parts are full of ravening and wickedness.

Rather given unto the poor, those in need, the widows and orphans. Once you do this all things are clean unto you. Through greed our bodies will become full of darkness, by giving willingly and aiding those in need we remove greed, envying, and covetousness. Our eyes are good, and our bodies are full of light.

Amen.
