James 4 – To Be A Friend with The World is To Be Enemies With GOD.

Wars and fightings among you, most likely referring to the church. Disunity and quarrels among believers are due to pursuit and fufillment of fleshy lust.

Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. James 4:2-3

To satisfy the lust of the flesh, even believers, those who claim to belong to YAHUSHUA kill. Some kill physically as King David to fufill lust (2 Samuel Chapter 11- the entire Chapter), others kill with words to satisfy their pride (Philippians 1:15-16). Some are soo deep into satisfying their fleshy lust that they are unable to walk in YAHUVEH’s will. Again, others ask for riches or glory in prayer, but receive not because they ask to fufill their lust. They want these riches so that they may boast and glory in themselves. Luke 18:10-14 – This parable helps us understand that it was humble who was justified before GOD.

From verse one we understand that quarells often arise in the church because of such lusts. The lust of glory, that all may see that you are some ‘great one,’ Praying, thithing, or offering unto God for all to see, or as the Pharisees who fasted and prayed for all to see and hear. These are all lusts of the flesh being fufilled. YAHUSHUA’s example is to be followed, who did all things to please and glorify Abba YAHUVEH, not himself. YAHUVEH is the one that glorifies and promotes his children, our job is to focus on him, fufill His will, and Glorify Him in all we do.

Verse 4: Ye adulterers and adulteresses… Those who act to fufill fleshy lust are as married women, who acts and moves to satisfy another rather than their husbands. Such lust is pleasing unto the enemy of our soul, and not unto God. As a child of God, we cannot serve YAHUSHUA and the world at the same time. As Scriptures tell us in 1 Corinthians 10:21-22: Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he? The cup and table of the Lord is the cup of the new testiment, communion. Communion is the unity with YAHUSHUA, God Almighty. To be one with God is to be one with Holiness, for this cause we learn in Leviticus 20:26: And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.

….Know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

We cannot have it both ways, we either fufill the desires of The Holy Spirit, or of the flesh. God is Holy, as such we must also be holy. To be holy is to flee from all unholiness. We cannot sup with YAHUSHUA and the devil. We cannot be lukewarm, we will either be hot or cold.

For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy. Leviticus 11:44-45

It’s important to understand that Egypt symbolized the world, sin, and lusts of the flesh. The Egyptians worshiped many, many false gods. Their lust was fufilled by the fact that they could see what they worshipped. As such Almighty YAHUVEH seperated his people unto himself. This is the meaning of Holiness, being set apart unto YAHUVEH. Unity with Egypt brings destruction and death. If any Isrealite choose to remain, or worship egyptian gods then the destruction of Egypt would have also been their portion. To be friends with the world is to be an enemy of GOD. All enemies of GOD will receive judgement.

The spirit of the flesh lusts to envy, in other words the flesh desires to sin, a child does not need to be taugh fornication or lust, this is the nature of the flesh. Yet by the Grace and Spirit of God we are able to humble and conqueres the flesh.

We are to draw closer to GOD, and He in His mercy will draw near unto us. Scriptures make it clear that when we seek the LORD with all our heart we will find him. Jeremiah 29:12-13. We draw closer to GOD thorugh prayer, genuinly speaking to your creator. Learning of him, his ikes and dislikes and following them. If GOD has no pleasure in lies, then do not lie, by doing so your allowing GOD to have fellowship with you. Humbling orself with fasting and abstanance of wordly pleasures also allows us to get closer to GOD.

Unto GOD we are to submit, indeed YAHUSHUA is our Lord, Master, King, and GOD, to him we are to completely submit. From verse 13-16 we understand that we should not have confidence within ourself regarding tomorrow. We are to always honor YAHUVEH in our plans. It’s not by our power nor is it by our might that we live. Rather than stating: tomorrow I will fix my car; we honor GOD by stating: Tommorow, if GOD willing, I will fix my car.

Yet we are to resist the devil and all his evil ambitions. We resist the devil through YAHUVEH’s word, Just as YAHUSHUA used the Word of GOD to resist the devil in the wilderness. Matthew Chapter 4. The word of GOD is not only an offensive weapon, but it also our defense. The enemy will often look for any openings to enter our mind, it is through YAHUUVEH’s words that we rebuke and push him out. It is through the same words that we go into the enemy’s camp and break all their works and devices.

We are not to speak evil against our bethrene. If they have done wrong we are to speak to them and correct that which needs correcting. The toungue can empower, encourage, and heal. The same tungue destrys and curses. All believers are one body, even the body of YAHUSHUA Messiah, speaking evil of one another brings strifs and contentment.

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. Mark 12:30-31
