1 Peter 2 – A Chosen Generation, A Royal Priesthood. That Is how God Sees You.
Let Us Open Our Bibles To First Peter Chapter 2
When a believer first receives YAHUSHUA, they hunger to learn all they can of Him, they often receive pure revelation and become more intimate with YAHUSHUA as they have no malice, guile, jealousy, or hypocrisy occupying their heart. As Verse 2 tell us, they as babies in the Lord desiring pure milk wherewith they may grow. It’s by the laying aside of all such evil characteristics and lusts that allows us to receive pure revelation and understanding from YAHUVEH Elohim.
Unforgiveness not only destroys our relationship with another believer, but it also harms our relationship with GOD.
As YAHUSHUA is the head of the church and believers make up His body; likewise, YAHUSHUA is the Chief Corner Stone and believers are living stones that build the house of GOD.
To a disciple, we look up and see YAHUSHUA, the very Son of YAHUVEH Elohim, the Author and Finisher of our faith. Our Light, Redeemer, and Shepard – the only way to Father GOD YAHUVEH. Unto the believer YAHUSHUA is precious, the One who strengthens when weak, and upholds when unable to stand. To the believer YAHUSHUA is Life, and, more Abundantly. Yet to to the unbelieving YAHUSHUA is offense – for He is the Light that exposes their sins. To the hypocrite YAHUSHUA is a stumbling block, for He rebukes them. And yet again, for the sheep of GOD, YAHUSHUA is Our Shepard, for the Holy and Righteous, YAHUSHUA is our strength.
To those who belong to GOD, YAHUSHUA is the savour of life, and death unto others. 2 Corinthians 2:16: “To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life…” The Word of GOD can only bless those who have opened their hearts to receive it. It’s indeed that GOD gives new hearts after the acceptance of YAHUSHUA as Messiah, but before then we must open our hearts to receive His Word – it is His Word that shapes and transforms. Hebrews 11:3.
As verse 10 states, in past time not all where counted as the people of GOD, yet because He has sent His Word, all who accept it have been brought near unto him. Therefore are we to “…abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.” 1 Peter 2:11-12
AUTHORITIES/LAWS/GOVERNMENTS
Indeed we are the Children of GOD, we move to the rhythm of Heaven, and not of this Earth. Even so, this does not mean that we should use the freedom and power given to us by GOD to rebel against authorities and governments of this world. As Scriptures tell us, GOD is not the Author of confusion. With that said, this does not mean that we as Christians should sit back and watch abominations take place. When YAHUSHUA entered the temple, He overturned the tables of the money changers and scattered those who turned his Father’s house into a market.
Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. 1 Peter 2:13-16.
Fear Elohim, honor all men, but Love the brethren. This is what YAHUSHUA meant when he tells us to Love one another as ourselves. Not only so, but we get our priorities straight when we Fear Elohim: love the brethren, and honor all men.
When we suffer wrongly, suffer persecution, or stand accused falsely we are to endure it patiently unto the Lord, for YAHUSHUA suffered and was accused wrongly, yet he did no evil. Not meaning that when accused wrongly we are to keep quiet and receive punishment, GOD did not call his people to be scapegoats. What YAHUVEH expects of his people is not to sin, lose faith, or become bitter during tribulation.
