From whence does my help come from? My help comes from YAHUVEH, which made heaven and earth

I will lift up my Eyes unto the hills, from whence does my help come from? My help comes from YAHUVEH, which made heaven and earth.

I will Never Leave or Forsake you

During the days of the Judges, there was a famine in the land of Israel. In the book of Ruth, the Bible tells us about a woman called Naomi. Naomi and her family moved to the land of Moab as a result of this famine.

Naomi’s husband died shortly after the move, leaving Naomi with her sons and her daughter-in-laws. Naomi’s two sons also died in Moab. The Bible tells us that her life became so bitter that she called herself ‘Mara’, for she said “for the Almighty hath dealt very bitterly with me.” Ruth 1:20.

Naomi had two daughter-in-laws from their marriage to her deceased sons, Orpah and Ruth. Orpah left Naomi and returned to her father’s house. Ruth, however, clave unto her mother-in-law.

Ruth was determined not to leave or forsake Naomi.

16 And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:

17 Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me. Ruth 1:16-17

A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24

The faithfulness of Ruth represents the faithfulness of our Lord YAHUSHUA ha MASHIACH. YAHUSHUA ha MASHIACH has promised that He will never leave nor forsake you and I. In the day of trouble, in times of great distress, in the most bitter situation – even then, He is with us and tells us to call upon his name. Psalm 91:14-15.

He promises to never leave or forsake us. Hebrews 13:5. When times are tough, know that we have a friend who sticks closer than a brother. A faithful and loyal YAHUVEH God who will never desert His people due to their circumstance. YAHUSHUA ha MASHIACH says that He is with us, even to the end of the world, He will never leave nor forsake us. Matthew 28:20.

We must Depend and place our Trust in YAHUVEH God

5 Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.
6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.
8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. Jeremiah 17:5-8.

Naturally, Naomi trusted and depended on her husband. He was a rock to her, yet after his death the rock that she stood on crumbled.

Naomi’s son’s represented her hope for the future. These would be the ones that would take care of her in her old age. With their death, the hope that she had placed in them died also.

As the Bible states in Jeremiah 17:5-8, we must depend only on the Lord YAHUSHUA ha MASHIACH.
Our hope and trust must be placed only in YAHUSHUA ha MASHIACH. He is the rock of ages, those who stand on Him will never be put to shame.

In His name shall the gentiles trust, those who trust on him shall never be put to shame.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. Isaiah 28:16.

So this is what the Sovereign LORD says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic. Isaiah 28:16 (NIV).

Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD himself, is the Rock eternal. Isaiah 26:4 (NIV).

And in his name shall the Gentiles trust. Matthew 21:12.

The Rock of Ages, even symbolized in the Rock the slew goliath is our Lord and God YAHUSHUA ha MASHIACH.

24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. Matthew 7:24-27 (KJV).

We are to depend on the Lord YAHUSHUA ha MASHIACH in all that we do. He is a sure foundation. By Him, and through Him all creation (the Heaven’s and Earth) stands. Hebrews 11:3 & Matthew 24:35. The Bible says that all creation is framed and kept by the Word of God, who is YAHUSHUA ha MASHIACH. As Scriptures tell us in Jeremiah 17, it is only in God who we are to place our trust and hope – not man.

Do not trust in Man

5 Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.
6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. Jeremiah 17:5-6.

We must depend and trust YAHUVEH God, not man.

In Genesis chapter 40, the Bible tells of of when Joseph was imprisoned. The Bible states that Pharaoh’s Baker and Butler offended their master, Pharaoh and as result were cast into prison. While in the prison, they were under the care Joseph. One night, both the chief baker and butler had dreams.

Joseph came in to them in the morning and they related their dreams to him.

8 And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you.

9 And the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, In my dream, behold, a vine was before me;

10 And in the vine were three branches: and it was as though it budded, and her blossoms shot forth; and the clusters thereof brought forth ripe grapes:

11 And Pharaoh’s cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh’s cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh’s hand.

12 And Joseph said unto him, This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days:

13 Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh’s cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler. Genesis 40:8-13 (KJV)

After understanding that the chief butler would be freed, Joseph began to make supplications to him and trusted Pharaoh’s butler to be his deliverer.

14 But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and shew kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house:. Genesis 40:14.

As verse 14 shows us, Joseph trusted in man and not in YAHUVEH God, he depended on the chief butler to save him from the prison that he was confined to.

23 Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him. Genesis 40:23.

Yet the scriptures are true and do not lie, “Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.” Man will always disappoint. Trust in Almighty God YAHUVEH, depend on His Word, trust in His Word, for they are True and Faithful.

The arm of man/flesh is short and cannot deliver. Cursed is the man who depends on it, for he shall be put to shame and be sorely disappointed. His hope shall be cut of for he placed his hope in vanity, yet blessed is the man who trusts in YAHUVEH and who builds upon the Rock of Ages.

David, when fighting against Goliath did not trust in the armor of man, but rather trusted in YAHUVEH. David was not clothed with Saul’s armor, but the Armor of God. Ephesians 6:10.

Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. 1 Samuel 17:45.

Our Help comes from YAHUVEH God, maker of Heavens and earth. Trust in Him and He will see you through. Amen.

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.

6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. Psalm 121: 1- 8.
